These shoes are amazing for so many reasons… but the idea of walking in them hurts me. Kudos to those who can… I prefer a platform or wedge with sass. Yet, when I look at this picture I am drawn to it. Is this what success looks like? Maybe to some.
There are truths about life, love, and business that get glossed over. Here are a few truths that ring true day in and day out…
1. Truth in Business: Thinking that you can make money without investing in yourself and into your business is a sure fire way to keep you stuck! To evolve requires commitment, dedication, grit, determination, and perseverance in adversity.
Sure there are those who started with little to no money and have made it BIG… and they invested in themselves and sacrificed what they needed to make it happen. Many lived a less than life until they could afford the life they dreamed. AND they have a ferocious appetite to succeed.
Your desire to succeed must be stronger and more compelling than the “what if” angst that troubles you.
Today we must disrupt by re-educating, rethinking, reimagining, and reinventing to recharge and move from the best kept secret to success.
In no way is this a suggestion to throw caution to the wind and put yourself in debt without a plan. Rather this is a call to action to say that without investment and commitment nothing changes.
Key: When investing do your due diligence. Look for access, connections, collaborations, community, resources, and knowledge and be ready to own it.
2. Truth in Life and Love: In life and love, everything you learn moves you forward or pulls away from what you dream – of which both have merit. Although being pulled forward is great, sometimes we have to self-correct. Each time we add knowledge we increase our value.
Why then, at times, do we discount and dilute what we know, looking for instant gratification and results of which neither are sustainable?
Although we live in a fast-paced time where the newest is often touted as the next best thing, often the best methods are tried, tested, and proven to work over and over again. It’s not about leaving behind what you know for the next best thing – “Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater” – rather it’s about leveraging what you know and adding to your tool chest to raise the bar.
Key: Seek what interests and challenges you to take action. Simple but true, and just because it’s simple does not mean it’s easy.
3. Truth in Life: You can’t force creativity or enlightenment. Both require space, access and time. Time to be free and present. To unleash the best of you, make yourself a priority!
Key: Book and block time to unleash and recharge. If you are not making you a priority, why would anyone else? The results are amazing!
Oh and BTW if you have not committed in writing to what your ultimate life, love, and business looks like, you are vulnerable to settling for good enough. Write it down – every last detail.
Although there is no magic pill remember this: instant gratification is not sustainable.
Of course, if you are content, you can simply stay where you are. If not, take action to move you forward – toward your goals or away from by actively participating in your life.
I dare you to make this your mantra: Re-educate, Rethink, Re-imagine, Reinvent and Recharge in all ways!
