What do YOU stand for?
Some people stand for justice, for families, for education, for freedom, for peace and for equality. Some will even be so brave as to stand for the world. Their calling so deep it touches every area of their life. Their mission and purpose so clear it becomes their deepest and most juicy desire.
Nelson Mandela was crystal clear on his mission, his calling and his destiny. He never deviated no matter what! His lifelong struggle to right the ills of racism, poverty, and injustice transformed the world. He sacrificed his freedom for his beliefs. Although he was one man, his legacy will be carried in our hearts.
When was the last time you stood for yourself and your calling?
Can’t remember?
There is a difference between a DEEP BURNING desire and a want.
According to Wikipedia: Desire is a sense of longing for a person or object or hoping for an outcome. The same sense is expressed by emotions such as “craving” or “hankering”. When a person desires something or someone, their sense of longing is excited by the enjoyment or the thought of the item or person, and they want to take actions to obtain their goal. The motivational aspect of desire has long been noted by philosophers; Hobbes (1588–1679) asserted that human desire is the fundamental motivation of all human action.
Wants are often distinguished from needs. A need is something that is necessary for survival (such as food and shelter), whereas a want is simply something that a person would like to have.
Therefore a deep burning desire is a need that must be met and ensures your legacy!
We all have a deep and juicy frock-alicious desire in all of us – to leave the world a better place then when we arrived.
What is yours?
What wakes you up in the night?
What makes your heart sing?
Not sure … here’s a hint, what brings you joy? What would you want others to say when describing you?
Mine for years has been to write and share the message of Frock Off: Living Undisguised. To inspire others to stand for their life. To be the change I seek in the world, to live without apology or regret in service to those who want to live frock-less and to those who have no voice. I would love for you to join the Frock Off Movement, living a Frock-alicious life! If you haven’t already done so please join us and be part of the conversation at our website/social media at: www.frock-off.com
